AGGRAVATED ASSAULT
It was about 9:20 p.m. Sunday August 20, 2023 when shots were reported in the parking lot of the Kroger store at 540 S. Mendenhall Road in east Memphis. Two men in a black Infiniti EX35 were handed a device from the driver of a red Dodge Charger. The men in the first car then broke the sunroof of a nearby white Infiniti to steal it.
It was at this time that a man came out of Kroger and one of the men in the black Infiniti stood up through the driver’s window and fired shots, hitting the Kroger customer in the leg. The shooters fled and the man who was shot was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
