HOMICIDE
A report of a shooting at 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2019 brought officers from the Memphis Police Department’s Ridgeway precinct to 4228 Eastwind Drive, the parking lot of T&A Market, near the Peppertree Apartments in Whitehaven.
At the scene the officers found Phil Patton on the ground dying from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead by arriving Memphis Fire Department personnel. Police learned that Patton was involved in a fight with a male black inside the business. The altercation continued into the parking lot where the suspect shot Patton. The man fled the scene.
