HOMICIDE
Memphis Police officers from the Tillman Street station answered a call about a shooting at Mt. Olive Road and Pope Street, not far from Douglas High School. Officers arrived to find three gunshot victims. The three were transported to Regional One Hospital. One, Charles Preyer, was pronounced dead on arrival.
Officers learned that the three men were walking near the intersection when gunshots rang and all three were struck by bullets. Police are asking for the public’s help in this ongoing homicide and aggravated assault investigation. Citizens are asked to call or text CrimeStoppers at 528-CASH (2274). Calls are anonymous.
