MEMPHIS, TN – CrimeStoppers today announced it has an award of $10,000 to pay to any citizen who anonymously contacts CrimeStoppers with information that will help identify one or more suspects in the July 19 shooting death of Corey Adams, a University of Mississippi freshman football player.
Adams, 18 and a touted defensive end from New Orleans, was killed, and several others were injured, when gunfire erupted after a pool party in Cordova.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office reported more than 40 rifle and pistol shell casings were found at a nearby residential scene. Chief Deputy Anthony Buckner said there are potentially several suspects in the case.
A $6,000 donation was received by CrimeStoppers of Memphis and Shelby County from an anonymous source. The amount, added to the $4,000 CrimeStoppers customarily pays for information that identifies a suspect in a homicide, makes the award now in this case a total of $10,000.
“In virtually every case, at least one person knows enough information that could help investigators make an arrest,” said David Wayne Brown, executive director of CrimeStoppers. “We simply ask that someone contact CrimeStoppers at 528-CASH (2274) and provide information that will make him or her eligible for the extraordinary award.”
