CrimeStoppers now offers $25,000 in shooting at Memphis Allies meeting

CrimeStoppers of Memphis and Shelby County today announced it now has up to $25,000 to pay to any citizen who anonymously contacts CrimeStoppers with information that will help identify one or more suspects in the April 9 shooting at a gun violence prevention meeting of the Memphis Allies program of Youth Villages.

Six people were shot and one – Matthew Williams, 22 – died at the scene.

Thanks to a donation, the extra award in the case had been $10,000. Now, several more donors have provided funding that raises the amount to $25,000. That amount will be paid out to the person who provides a successful tip that leads to a warrant and/or an arrest in the case.

“I am sure someone knows something that could lead to an arrest in this murder,” said David Wayne Brown, executive director of CrimeStoppers. “It could be someone who saw something that could help investigators, or someone who has learned something since the shooting.”

All calls and text messages to CrimeStoppers at 528-CASH (2274) are strictly anonymous.
