HOMICIDE
Reports of a shooting brought Memphis Police officers from the Appling Farms Station to the 6200 block of Coteswood Road near Leichester Lane. When they arrived the policemen found Thomas Washington inside a silver Honda Accord. He had been shot and soon was pronounced dead by Memphis Fire Department paramedics.
Police learned that the victim was stopped on Coteswood when a blue sedan drove up. A male hopped out of the car and began shooting, then got back into the car, which fled the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
