HOMICIDE
It was 4:14 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 2021 when a shooting call came into the Appling Farms station of the Memphis Police Department. Officers dispatched to 5280 Elmore Road at Raleigh LaGrange — the Best Deal Automotive Repair — found Gerald Stewart in the parking lot, suffering from several gunshot wounds.
Stewart was transported to Regional One hospital. He did not survive his injuries. Officers learned that he drove to the business after being notified by phone that the business alarm was sounding.
Shots were fired at the scene and Stewart was struck. The suspects then fled in a white mid-sized sedan. Anyone with information about this homicide should call or text CrimeStoppers, 528-CASH (2274).
