HOMICIDE
A report of shots fired at 6:52 a.m. Monday, September 21, 2020 brought Memphis Police officers from the Airways station to the 1700 block of Preston Street in south Memphis.
When they arrived, the officers found a man slumped down in a chair on the front porch of a house. Herman Wright had been shot more than once and was unresponsive. Memphis Fire Department paramedics arrived and pronounced Wright dead on the scene.
No other details were immediately available about the shooting and investigators need the public’s help to solve this homicide. Anyone with information is asked to contact CrimeStoppers, 528-CASH (2274).
