HOMICIDE
Memphis Police officers responded to a shooting call at 8:44 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2019 in the 2800 block of South Mendenhall Road. On arrival the officers found an unresponsive man on the ground and suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Memphis Fire Department personnel arrived and pronounced Justin Love, 22, dead at the scene.
Officers learned that Love was standing on the second floor balcony of his apartment when he was shot and fell over the railing onto the concrete walkway below. This homicide investigation is ongoing.
