BURGLARY – VEHICLES

Memphis Police officers responded to a report of vehicle burglaries on White Station Road April 3, 2023. It was 5:54 in the morning. Officers arrived to find several car break-ins at Crunch Fitness.

A suspect has been described as a male in his late teens or early twenties. He was wearing a light-colored hoodie and black jeans. Anyone with information should contact CrimeStoppers, 528-CASH (2274). All calls are anonymous. Cash awards are available.

Crime of the Week #12

ARMED ROBBERY

It was 1:51 in the afternoon of April 12, 2023 when Memphis Police received a report of a robbery on Lake View Trails in southeast Memphis. Patrolmen arrived and interviewed the victim.

They learned that two men, described as young and black, approached at gunpoint in a Silver two-door Infinity. The car had one black fender on the front passenger side. Suspects took a wallet and fled on Knight Arnold, driving toward Ridgeway.

Detectives review surveillance video in the area and found images of a vehicle matching the description of the suspects’ Infinity. No arrests have been made and the public’s help is needed to solve this felony crime.

Crime of the Week #11

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

A vehicle was travelling on Airways Boulevard near Wilson Street in south Memphis on Thursday March 30, 2023 around 10:30 a.m. when shots were fired from a black vehicle containing several occupants.

Memphis Police responded and found the driver of the first vehicle had been struck. He was taken to Regional One Hospital in critical condition. Other occupants weren’t hit by the gunfire.

In the course of the investigation, suspects were developed and captured on video at a nearby business. Still shots from the video are included here.

Crime of the Week #10

HOMICIDE

A Cold Case
Memphis Police officers responding to a shooting call arrived at 9028 Walnut Grove Road, near Forest Hill Irene Road in Cordova at 6:42 p.m. Thursday, August 20, 2020. They found a pregnant woman unresponsive and bleeding in a black 2014 Mercedes CL2 in the parking lot of a Walgreen’s drugstore.

Keierra McNeil, 32, had multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics arrived and pronounced McNeil and the unborn child dead at 7:07 p.m.

Investigators need the public’s help to solve this homicide. Her family said she had gone to the drugstore to meet with someone. Although an individual was arrested later, charges were dropped because the prosecutor’s office said there wasn’t enough evidence to proceed in the case.

Crime of the Week #9

HOMICIDE

Residents in the Klondike neighborhood of north Memphis heard gunshots just after 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2023. Memphis Police arrived at the intersection of Speed Street and Henry Avenue at 3:31 to find Jamario Wallace lying in the street and suffering from a gunshot wound.

Wallace was transported to Regional One in critical condition. A possible suspect who fled was described as wearing a gray hoodie, black pants and gray Croc-style shoes.

The next day, detectives were informed that the teenager had died from his injury a few minutes after midnight. The public’s help is needed to solve this murder. Anyone with additional information should contact CrimeStoppers at (901) 528-CASH (2274).

Crime of the Week #8

HOMICIDE

A shooting call came to the Memphis Police at the Mt. Moriah station at 2:41 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2023 and officers were dispatched to 2762 Getwell Road in southeast Memphis.

On arrival at Memphis Pools, a business on Getwell, patrolmen found a man lying on the parking lot. Modesto Rodrigo was unresponsive. He had suffered gunshot wounds.

Paramedics with the Memphis Fire Department’s Unit 24 arrived and pronounced Rodrigo dead at 2:52 a.m.

Crime of the Week #7

HOMICIDE

The report of a shooting brought MPD patrolmen assigned to the Ridgeway station to the 5900 block of Pebble Beach Avenue in southeast Memphis Monday, February 27, 2023. It was 6:16 p.m. when they arrived and found a shooting victim on the ground.

Mirickei McCrary had been shot several times. She was transported to Regional One Hospital in critical condition but later died of her injuries.

Police learned that she had been playing basketball when a gray Chevrolet Impala drove down the street. Gunshots erupted from the car’s windows. Investigators are asking the public’s help in order to solve this homicide case. Anyone with information should contact CrimeStoppers, 528-CASH (2274).

Crime of the Week #6

HOMICIDE

A report of shots fired at 1:13 a.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2023 brought MPD patrolmen assigned to the Ridgeway Station to the intersection of Leven Road and Clearbrook Street, just south of Parkway Village, in south Memphis.

The officers arrived to find a shooting victim lying in the road. Keldric Cox was pronounced dead of gunshot wounds by Memphis Fire Department paramedics.

Crime of the Week #5

HOMICIDE

Memphis Police officers assigned to the Crump Station responded a suspicious activity call Saturday, February 4, 2023. It was nearly 2:30 in the morning.

The patrolmen arrived at 1413 Preston Street near South Parkway in the Soulsville neighborhood and found a woman lying near a running 2012 Ford Focus. The victim, identified as Jazmin Jones, was unresponsive and had gunshot wounds in her chest.

She was pronounced dead at 2:37 a.m. by paramedics with the Memphis Fire Department. Anyone with information on this homicide case is asked to contact CrimeStoppers at 528-CASH (2274).

Crime of the Week #4

HOMICIDE

Memphis Police officers were sent to check on a man reported lying on the steps of a church downtown early in the morning of Saturday, January 28, 2023.

It was 3:17 a.m. Patrolmen pulled up to the front of the First Baptist Beale Street Church at 379 Beale Street and saw what looked like a man sleeping. They soon realized, however, he was a shooting victim.

Paramedics took Bryan Polk to Regional One Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Investigators are asking that anyone who saw or heard anything, or know something about this homicide, contact CrimeStoppers at 528-CASH.
